HW for Tuesday, 9/9

1. Draft a thesis statement and 2-3 subtopic sentences for your Essay 1. You will hand in a copy of these at the beginning of class on Tuesday.

2. Continue actively reading We, the Drowned, "The Thrashing Rope," pages 56-91.

• Be prepared to answer these discussion questions:

• How does Isager teach? What are his main actions throughout the chapter?

• How do Albert and his schoolmates get revenge on Isager? Why do they do this as opposed to directly attack Isager?

• What type of world do you think Isager accidentally or purposefully prepares the boys of Marstal for? Really meditate on this one!
